![]() The Eternal Caravan is the figurative umbrella that founder Ari Melinger-Cohen holds as a collective for all of his solo and collaborative creative projects. He conceived of it on a nomadic journey in Australasia as a vision for a traveling music and arts collective. While growing and subject to continuous evolution, The Eternal Caravan is currently focused on music and story-telling. Broadly speaking, the music is a fusion of jamgrass, Americana, rock, jazz and blues, spiced with musical traditions spanning Western Africa to Eastern Europe and down the Silk Road to India. The instrumentation is similar to that of a modern string band, often with added percussion and exotic instruments. Thus, the music is described as journeygrass. The stories transport you into the mythical realm to tell the tale of the legendary "Eternal Caravan in the Sky." Prepare to take your inner child upon a heartfelt ride through the waves of life, towards a golden valley, beyond the yonder mountain and under a second sun. On the journey, you'll meet the cast of characters, including the infamous outlaw Tallahassee Jed, the Cosmic Sea Cat, the Sea Camel and the legendary Muillo, to name but a few. The live show is our favorite aspect of the project because it allows us the opportunity to engage directly and in-the-moment with our fans. We fuse our music and story-telling to create an enchanting atmosphere to ground, connect and dance as we take off on a magic carpet ride. The co-creation is different every time and the Eternal Caravan will adapt to match the ambiance and energy in each venue. We can provide a show ranging from intimate and cozy song- and story time to a high energy hoe down. No matter what, the show is bound to leave you "flying high on board the Eternal Caravan in the Sky!" The Eternal Caravan is the seed for a community based around music, art, creativity and medicine, both local and global. It is meant to an inclusive canvas and platform for all to feel comfortable expressing themselves and being artists in whatever way feels right. We invite all who are interested to hop on board and co-create. His music is transcendent bringing together Tribal, Celtic and classical music. - MEDITATIONS AND DISCUSSIONS ON THE HUMAN PLACE IN NATURE - Sacred ecology explores the natural world as a doorway to the "sacred." In this workshop we will explore existential questions such as: What is the concept of self? How do we see ourselves amongst the wider family of earth's inhabitants: animals, plants, minerals, soils and fungi, all of which are an intimate part of their own living ecosystems and perhaps, sentient waters? Might the concept of "self" be the root of our more serious environmental struggles? Sacred Ecology reclaims the awareness of our integral connection with the earth, our inner "self", as well as our surrounding community. This workshop will be divided into two key portions: a guided meditation into the evolution and healing of the earth and and an intellectual discussion on the more specific concepts of nature and wilderness, indigenous perspectives, ecology, the self, and our sacred connection with the interconnected web of life. Listeners can expect equal measures of blunt honesty, self-effacing humour and incisive social commentary and are positively encouraged to join the conversation. www.reverbnation.com/scatteredashes
